Nottingham gig. Mr W set us up for the day with bacon cobs, and then Mrs W aces us with her inimitable chilli - it has a reputation that precedes itself. We are being treated like royalty. We are due to stay at mine tomoz. Dunno how I’m gonna follow this…
Bodega Social Club rocks, great on-stage sound and out-front sound. Happy band, happy punters. FranKo knock it out of the park, ‘Speak Up’ perhaps being the highlight. Fans have travelled again, and there are people we recognise from Clothes Show Live. It feels brilliant that the word is getting around.
Ricky breaks a stick part-way through and throws it forward. Somehow, it lands on Tommy’s shoulder and stays there (?). He retrieves it and throws it into the audience. There’s a mini-scrum to catch it.
Ivyrise have a better show, too - the sound is so much better-defined here than in Manchester. Their closing song, ‘Hurts’, is the highlight for me.
Then it’s back to the Ws for Bombay potatoes and excellent company. As I say, I have to follow this. Damn.
Brum tomoz, and a sold-out show…
