Reaching (out) to the converted.
So, today sees a “welcome” message (using the excellent Mailchimp) to the FranKo faithful. It’s a kind of ‘premium’ mailing list.
This is crazy, of course, as it’s hardly a welcome. I am preaching to the converted. Well, hopefully not preaching. Maybe ‘reaching (out) to the converted’ would be a better description.
But if music is as important to...
Clap acoustic at Felsted. And Tommy asserting himself.
Felsted School gig
This was a chance to give back. The school has let Ricky have loads of time off to do FranKo.
And give back they did! 2 half hour sets with a 15 minute interval and the resurrection of some old favourites. Night Time was there, and a re-vamped Going Down to open the second half. Chelsea Dagger made an impromptu appearance, too. Tommy gauged this would send the punters bouncing and singing along,...
The only competitive instrument available to you...
…. to be better, not merely louder.
Discuss.
Tour over
Yup. All done.
And have sent out the free new demo of ‘10 Feet’ to everyone who wanted it.
I reckon FranKo are ready to do their own headline tour now; should they want to do it…
It was a great week, some great shows, a bit of drama… And all good in the end…
Now we wait to see if there’s enough interest in the world record idea…
If there is,...
All hands on deck - last night of tour…
FranKo Forever!: FranKo to set a world record! →
frankoforever:
Read on to see how you can be a part of it! FRANKO ARE GOING TO GO FOR A WORLD RECORD – would you like to help us, and be a part of it all? We are trying to set the record for the most gigs done in a week. We want to do it by going from home to home, and playing a personal gig with a minimum of…
Yup
NLAL - Sheffield & Manchester
We left London at 9am yesterday. The tyre blew up shortly after.
Then the AA fiddled and faddled about. For ages. Left us on the hard shoulder for 3 & 1/2 hours. Nice weather for it.
Then the M25 & M1 shafted us. And we got to the venue at 7pm. Bloody. Hell.
Surprisingly, the gig was amazing, Tommy stretching out the gap in Pitchfork for an hilarious amount of time…
The crowd...
The rules of Shotgun
I’ve just woken the band. Having taken Ricky to the station at 5.30am.
Tommy croaks, “Shotgun last shower.”
Chris: “Shotgun second shower.”
Rich, beaten, deals with defeat gracefully. After a beat, he utters, “Shotgun FIRST shower.”
“Get in there, boy…” says Tommy, turning over and going back to sleep…
NLAL - London show
Good crowd at Islington O2 (2).
FKo & I are rather enamoured of the fact that Gavin Harrison is playing downstairs.
It’s a great set from FranKo, large performances that are extremely confident. They wrestle with onstage sound issues manfully for the first 3/4 of the set (though I doubt the audience noticed too much) and then knock out a cracking Pitchfork and Nobody Knows.

The M25
Chris Rea called it the road to hell.
It was the road to Sheffield this morning. For a short while. Then we had a tyre explode at 70 mph, which was lame.
Sitting here awaiting the AA.
Sigh
A bit of Pitchfork at Glasgow
Awesome
That’s how the show was. A great night at a great venue with a great sound.
Awesome.
I’m on my own again tonight. The lads are partying in Brum (sigh). What it must be to be young.
LONDON tomoz, and I cannot wait. Should be rammed by all accounts :)
NLAL - day 3
Hey, I’m going to do today’s post today, as opposed to tomorrow!
I have a window…
So it’s the HMV Institute today. We bid the Ws goodbye after another epic, epic brunch. We’ll be seeing them again at Sheffield.
We pull up at the venue to discover My Forever have broken down in Sheffield. I ring Jon Smith, our good mate who drove us for the Room 94 tour. Luckily,...
Doncaster, The Leopard
Nice people here, and nice cheesy dumplings :) Stewart is a legend, stepping in after the chap who booked us walked…
Our support band (whoever they were) have cancelled at the last minute.
The sound guy steps in and does some acoustic songs, borrowing Rich’s guitar! He’s a real wag and strikes up a good rapport with a small but friendly audience.
We do our thing and all...
Arrived at the Ws
FranKo Seniors: I love Glee…
Tommy: Wha? Glue?
Pause.
FranKo Seniors: No, Glee
Our support act in Doncaster
Him: “You’re such an obedient crowd.”
Girl: “What’s obedient mean?”
Him: “Obedient means you probably should have listened in school.”
NLAL - Day 2, Newcastle
So we were up and out and underway from a tiny village an hour out of Glasgow, where we were fed and watered by some wonderful people.
Then to Newcastle, where we parted ways with Mike and welcomed Ricky back to the flock.
O2 here is awesome, though the floor bounces up and down when the crowd get excited and jumpy. Which they did in ‘Speak Up’, Tommy whipping the crowd into...
G g g g g Glasgow
Nice people up here…
Nice people on tour, too :)
My Forever are cheeky chaps and will keep us on our toes :)
NLAL rock at 100mph and well worth catching live, too :)
So it’s all good here on Day 1.
The drive was pretty draining, but the lads are in good spirits and Mike M depped again as Ricky was drumming for The Queen on the Thames yesterday. Really.
The set feels crisp...
