May tour / June tour
Hope to have ticket links / confirmations up for all these uk gigs very soon now…
And then to look at the possibility of doing a FranKo headline tour…
Delhi peanuts
flowers-for-peggy asked: OH! I Proper question! The tour in June, will that be covering Manchester too? 'cause I have a friend up there I'd like to see and she'd like to see FranKo too. =D (Plus it'll be easier to save money for June than May)
sleeptightmylove-deactivated201 asked: When is franKo coming upto scotland to play because i would love to see them live
kaitlinnotcaitlin asked: hi chris:) will there be a gig in sheffield on the june tour if it's confirmed?
Ramdom update-age
FranKo’s “Eye of the Storm”, and accompanying video, will be released on 26th March.
So that’ll be dates that you’ll be needing to make with i-Tunes and YouTube, then :)
FranKo are playing next on March 2nd and Nambucca, be good to see some of you there.
Then again, supporting McFly in Portsmouth on 7th March, with Ivyrise. Apparantly, that’s sold out,...
shout-it-deactivated20120828 asked: Hey, Um I Was Just Wondering If FranKo Were Thinking Of Maybe Coming To New Zealand???
piercemy-heart asked: hey chris.just wondering if you have anything planned in london for like june july ish cus im coming down for a bit :)
Chris was pretty chuffed to be playing Silverlake: “Alright!!!”
Another new tour in the offing...
Just sorting out a new UK tour for the beginning of June…
Should be able to confirm in a couple of days… look out for confirmation on frankoband.com
This is in addition to our co-headlining tour with The Hype Theory in the first week of May.
Gonna get to see a lot of you lovely people :)
marlygg77 asked: is there an online store where american fans can buy merch since we cant make it to shows?
frankousa asked: Hey Chris it's the USA fan here. Great job on this blog. Keep it up. Also, are there any plans in the near future for FranKo to go on tour with a band in the US?
coulsoned asked: just wondering if Speak Up will be a single?
FranKo on the radio tonight - online!
Here:
ukundiscovered.co.uk
At 8pm.
It’s a great interview, and loadsa great music, too :)
Business and context
Fancy changing your life a bit? Try this on for size: http://t.co/UlwSDnPe
It’s bite-size-ish, and can really make a difference to everything you do…
What’s my context for FranKo?
McFly etc.
So, we get 15 minutes to open for McFly. Andy Warhol was right!
We can easy get 4 songs into that space, but which four?
EOTS? Nobody Knows? Take A Bow? Speak Up? Run? Lucky?
Decisions, decisions. I don’t envy the lads this one…
And the gigs on 2nd and 20th March are all confirmed and up on the website and FBk.
Kerpow!
loveforfame asked: Heyy CP, I was wondering if the wristbands will be available to buy online anytime soon? If not, will you have them on the May tour..? :D <3 x
charlie-in-a-beanie asked: Just wanted to say that Me and all my friends had an amazing time tonight :) Thankyou for the photos and all ^_^
Swaying to ‘Run’ in Brum
imarocket-man asked: I just wanted to say a huge thankyou for running this blog! It's lovely to read things from your perspective and I enjoy the pictures and videos you put on here, so yeah, thanks CP :)
A FranKo-free day
…and perversely, I miss them.
Banking, ticket accounting, email tidying, a clear-up day, and one where I take it reasonably easy. The start of 2012 has been an amazing one for FranKo, and for me. The lurgi I have been fighting for the last 4 days takes hold and I’m hawking up gremlins. Yeuck.
Look back at the tour, and feel proud. Ivyrise are a great band for FranKo to have toured...
‘Speak Up’ from the side of the stage…
Tour: Day 8
And so it comes to an end.
Ricky has to go to Guildhall to run something symphonic, the talented little monkey - he’ll be taking the train to Pompey, where I’ll collect him later.
Tommy heads off home from Ricky’s - I’ll be picking him up on the way.
That leaves Rich, Chris & I. We recover from a late night, watching “Get Him to the Greek” in the...
Tour: Day 7
It’s Norwich today, but we stop off en route to play at a private gig in a village hall, where they have laid on pizza and cupcakes. I film some of it, like I did at the Worcester record store, and Franko sound great. Their acoustic shows are growing in stature.
The B2 venue is small, but the sound is large. And the locals are enthusiastic, so that’s nice.
We manage to get loaded up...
Tour: Day 6
Tommy’s brother cooks us all lunch, and thus bolstered we do the 2+ hour drive into London. The last mile takes about 30 mins of that. Bless the metropolis.
It’s a sell-out show, and FranKo re-introduce ‘I Am Right’ into the set, which proves to be a popular decision with a crowd that are definitely ‘up for it.’ They cheer the announcement of each song title...

Tonight’s Borderline gig: “Tight.”
Tour: Day 5
No show tonight (Weds, this blog is a day behind!) and we wake in sunny Worcester.
We play a short set of acoustic songs in ‘Rise’, the independent record store chain. It keeps the guys in gigging mode. There’s hardly anyone there, but the lads sound tremendous, Ricky improvising percussion on a fire extinguisher. I’ll post a vid clip shortly, the iPhone has captured the...
Tour: Day 4
Birmingham: a sold out show to a wonderfully enthusiastic audience. Result. Birmingham, as ever, does FranKo proud.
Then back to mine for microwaveable curry and ‘Pulp Fiction’, cos Ricky has never seen it, and that can’t be allowed to continue.
We reflect on the kindness of the Ws and that of the fans who come out on damn cold nights to support what FranKo do.
Our good...

CP: Ricky! Stop swearing!
Ricky: Shit, sorry.
Tour: Day 3
Nottingham gig. Mr W set us up for the day with bacon cobs, and then Mrs W aces us with her inimitable chilli - it has a reputation that precedes itself. We are being treated like royalty. We are due to stay at mine tomoz. Dunno how I’m gonna follow this…
Bodega Social Club rocks, great on-stage sound and out-front sound. Happy band, happy punters. FranKo knock it out of the park,...

‘An Audience with Joan Rivers’.
“She was funny.”
Tour: Day 2
Staying with the Ws is like Christmas, I have decided. Only it’s the good bits, not the cruddy bits, before you get the wrong idea.
Mr W has taken time off to chill out with us, and we watch “Face/Off” in hi-def and surround sound. The room RUMBLES. It’s cool.
Whitney dies. It’s odd, but not unexpected. She’s not here with us, you understand, merely the...

Tour: Day 1
I drive the mystery machine down to Ricky’s via Rich & Chris (& their gear) on Friday night.
FranKo rehearse the new set after Tommy joins us from flat-hunting. He shot two. Ha.
The set features new song ‘See You’ and the radically re-worked ‘Nobody Knows’, and Rich has created tracks on the Korg to enhance them.
We sleep. Ish. It’s -14 degrees...
